Is Your Head Coach Playing the Same Tricks as Cell Phone Companies?

Isn’t it funny how new cell phone customers always get the best deals while loyal customers are left in the dust? New customers get new phones, unlimited minutes, no data caps or annual contracts. And guess what? This phenomenon isn’t just limited to the world of cell phone providers, oh no. Football coaches are also guilty of the ole bait and switch. They’re constantly on the prowl for new talent, or should I say “customers,” to boost their team’s chances of success. They offer more targets, more carries and more minutes, not to mention free tuition in order to convince players to make the switch. The higher your profile the more they will slurp.

And, just like those sneaky cell phone companies, football coaches lure in new players with alluring promises and deals, hoping to convince them to ditch their current school, and join their team. It’s all about attracting that fresh talent and securing long-term success, you know?

Can you hear me now?

But what about the loyal customers, the ones who have stuck around through thick and thin? You know the ones that listened when the coach said “Trust the process”. Well my friend, they don’t get the same attention. The cell companies don’t think that these loyal customers will switch providers, so why bother offering them anything special? Or said another way, why bother investing and developing them. As long as the school gets it’s football fees and tuition, life is good. It’s a brilliant strategy, really. Get your money for nothing and your kicks for free!

Yeah, it’s unfair, but hey, so is life. And it’s just the way things work in both the cell phone industry and the world of football recruiting. But don’t lose hope! It’s always worth a shot to explore your options and reach out to your current provider. Who knows, maybe they’ll surprise you with some loyalty or more minutes. But hey, no guarantees, my friend. It’s just the way the game is played.
